Stay Safe™ Sanitiser in Fight Against Pandemic

Hand sanitiser and surface spray with at least 60 per cent alcohol as the active ingredient are being rolled out round-the-clock by Australia’s leading ethanol (alcohol) producer as part of the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Building on decades of industry experience to produce the Stay Safe™ range of commercial-grade disinfectants for use at home, at work and on-the-go, Manildra Group is locally producing the high-quality Stay Safe™ sprays and gels.

To help protect against transmission of COVID-19, the World Health Organisation recommends people wash hands with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand rub.

“This has generated unprecedented demand for Stay Safe™ hand sanitiser, containing naturally plant-derived alcohol (minimum 70 per cent ethanol) as the active ingredient,” said Manildra Group Managing Director John Honan.

“Our family-owned Australian business is committed to round-the-clock production of Stay Safe™ hand sanitiser at our world-class manufacturing facility in Nowra, NSW, and we appreciate everyone’s support for Australian manufacturing and locally produced products.”

Manildra Group’s seven-column, grain-neutral ethanol distillery is the largest in Southeast Asia and distils premium ethyl alcohol into a range of grades for food and spirits, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, industrial applications and transport fuels.

To maintain the highest quality, Manildra Group uses only premium GMO-free wheat as a single feedstock, to optimise removal of impurities in the fermentation process.

As a state-of-the-art food production plant, our flagship Shoalhaven Starches manufacturing facility is certified HACCP and SQF Level Three and the world’s first to be certified through the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, an international collection of farmers, non-government organisations, experts, governments and inter-governmental agencies focused on the global sustainability of biomaterial production and use.

“Meeting all domestic and international regulations and quality requirements, Manildra Group continues to set the global standard for ethanol production,” said Mr Honan.

Manildra Group maintains this certification through implementation of RSB environmental, social, and economic criteria.
