A Very Pink Morning Tea to Fight Breast Cancer
Manildra Group’s Australian Headquarters turned pink, hosting a Pink Bun and Bubbles morning tea raising funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Held in May 2022, Manildra Group decked out its head office with pink flavoured treats in recognition of the important work the BCNA do in raising awareness and providing service and care to Australians impacted by breast cancer.
More than $10,000 was raised at the morning tea with funds going toward providing support services and care to Australians diagnosed with breast cancer and their loved ones.
More than eighty employees donned their best pink outfits and came together to enjoy an indulgent morning tea, baked at the company’s on-site Test Bakery and Innovation Centre, overseen by Product Development Manager, Brad Stirzaker, and Product Development Technologist, Karen Cayanan.
Using Manildra Group’s 100 per cent Australian- grown and made flours, bakery premixes, sugars and oils, the team freshly baked an array of delicious, pink-flavoured goodies including finger buns, biscuits, lamingtons, cupcakes, tarts, muffins, and slices.
Manildra Group Director, Caroline Honan, said that she was especially proud of their amazing team for the fundraising efforts for BCNA, which will make a real difference to many Australians.
“The ripple effect of breast cancer is immense, not only impacting the person diagnosed with breast cancer, but also the people they love. As a family-owned business Manildra Group is built on the foundation of family, and these funds will help support so many families around the nation,” said Ms Honan.
Breast cancer will unfortunately touch most people’s lives in one form or another, with the heartbreaking disease claiming the lives of thousands of Australians annually. BCNA’s work is integral in reducing the devastating impact that breast cancer has on families by ensuring they receive the very best support, information, treatment, and care.
To raise awareness, deliver services and programs nation-wide, Manildra Group has proudly supported BCNA for more than two decades, donating their Bakers Flour to Bakers Delight franchisees for the Pink Bun Campaign, hosting functions and fundraisers, donating prizes, supporting the 55 Hours of Giving Campaign, and more.
