Wednesday 22nd April 2020: LEADING Australian ethanol producer, Manildra Group has been proud to help Rural and Remote Medical Services (RaRMS) to deliver critically required hand sanitiser to rural, remote and indigenous general practices and other essential services in NSW.

“Without Manildra Group’s help there was serious concern about our ability to maintain patient and staff safety while continuing our work of delivering critical medical services in some of Australia’s most disadvantaged communities,” said RaRMS CEO Mark Burdack.

“Manildra went above and beyond in delivering thousands of litres of hand sanitiser not just for RaRMS, but also for distribution to other GPs, pharmacies, Aboriginal Medical Services, aged care homes, police, ambulance and other services who needed it in western NSW”.

Manildra Group Director Peter Millard said their family-owned Australian business was proud to step up and donate their locally made Stay Safe hand sanitiser to ensure the RaRMS continued their critical work to safely supply medical services to some of Australia’s most disadvantaged communities.

“We’ve substantially increased our production of pharmaceutical grade ethanol, a key ingredient in hand sanitiser and additionally since the pandemic we have started producing Stay Safe hand sanitiser range at our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Nowra.

“Many of these at-risk communities have higher proportions of people from Indigenous backgrounds, the elderly and chronic illnesses – the hand sanitiser donation has ensured that front- line agencies such as local GP’s, emergency services at local hospitals, ambulances and pharmacies can continue to operate safely”.

RaRMS is the largest NGO provider of GP services in rural and remote NSW providing access to GP and primary care for more than 20,000 patients in more than ten locations including Bourke, Brewarrina, Lightning Ridge, Walgett and Warren.
