With a $110 million investment in heat recovery projects at Shoalhaven Starches, Manildra Group is continuing to future-proof our advanced manufacturing capabilities towards Australia’s target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
Supported by a $44.5 million grant through the industrial Safeguard Transformation Stream of the Australian Government’s Powering the Regions Fund, Manildra Group is proud to contribute to the future of high-quality, low-emissions Australian products as a pioneer in sustainably integrated advanced manufacturing.
Set to reduce our carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by more than 95,000 tonnes of CO₂ – equivalent per year – comparable to removing more than 47,000 cars from our roads – the critical investment in industry-leading initiatives will significantly lower natural gas demand through energy efficiency upgrades in heat recovery and infrastructure improvements, anticipated for operation in 2027.
Creating more than 80 jobs during construction from 2025, and securing 510 employees onsite, the transformative heat recovery projects support Manildra Group’s customers in advancing their Scope 3 CO₂ emission goals, in keeping with our obligations under the Australian Government’s Safeguard Mechanism legislation and policy framework.
