For the past decade, Manildra Group has ensured we source only palm oil certified to global
standards of production that promote environmental protection and wildlife conservation
with human rights and social benefits throughout the supply chain.
All of Manildra Group’s shortening and margarine products (that are made with palm oil or
kernel) are certified to international Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and
Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification Scheme standards.
About 86 per cent of all palm ingredients we purchase are additionally RSPO-certified for
‘segregated’ or ‘mass balance’ traceability – providing full records for data transparency
across the whole supply chain so that every batch of shortening and margarine sold by
Manildra Group can be traced back to individual palm plantations.
Compliance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights is also
critical to the successful implementation of the updated RSPO Principles and Criteria,
endorsed by the RSPO Board of Governors (BoG) in late 2024.
