Shoalhaven Starches Silo Incident October 2024

Manildra Group extends our sincere gratitude to the Bomaderry community for your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time. We highly value our relationship with you and appreciate your continued support.

On Thursday, October 17th, at approximately 10pm, a structural failure occurred at our Shoalhaven Starches site, impacting three grain silos and leading to some grain spilling into the Shoalhaven River.

To ensure an effective and coordinated response, we are actively collaborating with authorities and regulatory bodies, including SafeWork NSW, Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, and NSW Environment Protection Agency.

The safe and timely demolition of the affected structures is a priority, requiring work to continue 24/7. We are mindful of the potential impact on the local community and are committed to minimising disruptions as much as possible.

As this is a dynamic and evolving situation, we will provide updates here.

For any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact our team during business hours at (02) 4423 8200, via email at nowra.reception@manildra.com.au, or after hours at 1300 300 104.
