In 2024, we significantly increased Shoalhaven Starches’ air treatment capacity with the
installation of an advanced biofilter system – effectively doubling odour control capabilities
at the advanced manufacturing hub on the south coast of New South Wales.
Designed to improve local air quality, the state-of-the-art biofilter treats exhaust air through
odour-consuming microorganisms. In neutralising the odorous compounds, the
microorganisms dramatically reduce emissions from the air before release.
